속초중앙교회 강석훈 목사 * 추가 (인터뷰 전문 및 해석 : 외국인선교부 서정길 성도 제공) Q1 : Could you guys greet to our churches? A : Hello, brother and sisters, 천진중앙교회 and 속초중앙교회 its such a blessings and honor to be part of this great family. The love the support the care that we have received from you, 천진중앙교회 and 속초중앙교회 its overwhelming we’re so blessed and privileged and humbled by this wonderful hospitality.(안녕하세요, 형제 자매 여러분, 이렇게 훌륭한 가족의 일원이 된 것은 정말 축복이고 하나님께 영광입니다. Q2 : For the introduction of you guys, who are you and where are you from? A : I am Mutah Benjamin Ndih, pastor from Cameroon. And this is my wife Elma. I’m Elma, and this is my husband and we’re both from Cameroon. Q3 : And what made you come to Korea? A : Currently we are here as a student but the reason why we came here a bit of a long story but the summary of all this is .. Crisis started in our country and due to security reasons we had to leave our country and one of our friends recommended Korea, it hasn't always been a well thought out plan but we believe it was in the plan of God. Q4 : So, what is your current ministry in the church? A : We’re serving as a missionary to African communities here but also by the grace of God, God is extending our outreach to other communities, such as Nepali, Uzbekistan community we have. And doing our best to reach other communities too. Q5 : For the appreciation of the churches serving you guys, about the difficulties and help before the treatment of Elma, how were you guys before? A : Oh, truly, it always hasn't been easy since we came here, but I must confess that we have been really happy so far because when we just came here, these churches 천진중앙교회 and 속초중앙교회 really did not know us, but they just open their arms and just welcomed us and took care of us even when we did not have jobs, they make sure we always have ways to serve by. Q6 : And about Your mind, challenges and how do you guys feel the appreciation after the treatment of Elma and how she’s better now? A : Honestly, our minds are blown. It is overwhelming because the challenge the sickness acute promyelocytic leukemia brought at the beginning some kind of depression but we were not isolated at any moment. We saw how theses churches rallied around us, they took our problems, our burdens as theirs. It became so much lighter and words are not enough to say thank you we’re so grateful from our hearts and everyday we think about it, we see love from other perspective we have not experience love in this dimension before. ) Q7 : And Elma, you want to say something about that? A : Yeah, I just like to say that even the love I found in Korea, its far more than what I’ve ever expected. Like, its like fairytale every day to see that people love you unconditionally and some people even do things with you, show you so much love and have these priorities to them, and their prayers, their support from the bottom of my heart we’re so grateful. What’s there enough to say ‘thank you’? But we’re really really deeply appreciate all the support all the love and all the prayers. ) Q8 : When you go back to your home country, what specific work will you do when you return? A : That is amazing question, when we return home we hope to put in practice what we learned here. because Christianity there very many similarities but the idiosyncrasy of Korean Christianity is center around ‘practical love’. That is something, honestly, in my country is lacking; the practical love aspect. You can see people praying so much, coming to church, worshipping so well and you see love in some aspects but not really as practical as it is here and that is big lesson we have learned and we’re absolutely put in practice when we go back home. Q9 : And also I want to ask you your couple’s vision when you guys go back to your home country? A : Yeah, in my country, this is our vision that we have written down for many year, being here only help us to develop the vision. and that is our outreach in three areas: one first of all is Education, education that is to guarantee a good future. Second is Health, future without good health is useless. We have to implement God’s wisdom, and love and investment in these two key areas and the third one is using these two investments to reveal God’s kingdom and God’s love to all the communities back home.(네, 저희는 오랫동안부터 생각해오고 써놨던 비젼이 있습니다. ) Q10 : Lastly what is the last thing you want to say to Korea or to our Korean churches?(마지막으로 하고싶은 말이 있으실까요?) A : I just want to say, thank you to you all, thank you to everybody watching us love, thank you to every body who supported us, thank you to everyone… I’m so speechless but I just want to say we’re so grateful from the bottom of our hearts we say thank you and just like the poor man of those beautiful giggle come in contact with Paul, he had said that see what I have got that brought what I have give to you. I just want to say thank you to you all. We’re grateful. See what I have got, not we do have not, We can only say thank you and thank you very much. And to these wonderful Korean churches, its not just a 천진중앙교회 and 속초중앙교회 churches all over Korea really rallied around us. We’re grateful and our prayers is that this love will only grow and it is my prayer and my dream to see the expansion of Christian community through this love to take over this beautiful country and to be as an example to other countries around the world. Thank you so much, we love you from all our hearts. A : We just want to show our appreciation to this wonderful love we have received from the church and how grateful we are. We brought this symbolic painting that was done by one of our African students, by the name of Christina John, the painting is a symbol of gratefulness from us to the church. It represents the brightness on the hidden treasures being revealed when love and light is received like you see from the painting. As the sun rises the true colors, the vegetation around starts being revealed that is what has happened here because the truth is since we came here, a lot of light has come out of many Africans began to received love such prayers and care from these wonderful churches. This is just a symbol or a summary of everything that we have received. It may not be much, but it comes from our hearts. Thank you so much.
